KuruBa is the Dioula (Jula) word for big rock. Dioula is a language spoken by a group of people throughout Côte d’Ivoire, southern Burkina Faso and parts of Mali.

 

KuruBa is also a response to the destruction of the environment and in particular the wildlife of northern Côte d'Ivoire during the war years of 2002 to 2011. KuruBa is composed of a group of individuals interested in the conservation and on-going survival of God's creation in West Africa. KuruBa believes that it is the responsibility of people to care for and properly manage the environment in which they live. A stewardship approach to the world we live in is crucial for our survival.

 

With the appropriate management and conservation of wildlife, we believe that sustainable utilization of natural resources can contribute to the durable socio-economic development of communities surrounding wildlife areas. This will result in the protection of wildlife for generations to come. This will also assist in the ability for West Africans to get the chance to see and experience the wildlife that once roamed throughout the region.
